In 1909 a brave wee lass named Anne Jane Melville McKenna left the shores of Dundee Scotland for a new life in a new land. With her two daughters, Rachael (Rita) and Jean, she set sail for Montreal to join her son Patrick. Her husband Geordie McKenna
planned to join them later but . . .
The rest is history - OUR history.
In the spring of 2006, descendants of the three McKenna children got together for a mini-family gathering in Edmonton. Patrick's granddaughter, Maureen Denison from PEI, Rita's grandson Del MacMillan from Edmonton & Whitehorse and Jean's grand-daughter Patty Schachter from Calgary, birthed the idea
of this reunion and began the planning process earlier this year.
" It is unfortunate that we didn't begin planning this reunion years ago when there were more first-generation McKenna

Please join us at the first ever, and possibly last ever, McKenna Family Reunion, celebrating the lives of these first pioneers and all who came after. Whether you are from the McKenna Clan, the MacMillan Clan or the Ball Clan, or children, parents or guests, we hope to see you all there!
We need your help ! ! !1. We plan to compile a complete and accurate list of all the current McKenna descendants as well as contact information to be shared with family members only. Your Family Rep will be contacting you to confirm your contact information - phone, address, e-mail, full names including middle or maiden names and dates of birth and marriage or death. Please try to have the information for your whole family ready for them - or better yet, email them the information as soon as you can. It will really help!
2. We also want to get a current digital photo of each family member (preferrably a head shot) whether they are attending or not, to put in a large family tree display.
3.For each person attending, we would like a short statement that tells something about that person...
for example.... Jane plays the drums, Bill runs marathons, etc. This is for one of the welcome activities.
